Researchers of the Epic Health Research Network also found that the nurse staffing demand increased at metro hospitals by 249% and rural ones by 282%, which is nearly double the rate of suburban hospitals (131%).

Though the need for staffing for non-COVID patients is down by 14% for now, it is extremely high for COVID-19 patients. On average, when patients with and without coronavirus infection are taken together, staffing demands have increased by an additional 26,000 nurses (11%) per day doing direct care.

Medical Staffing Industry Shows Positive Attitude to Go Online

As of date, there are fewer than 50 companies making use of online platforms to fulfill staffing needs, according to the SIA.
